Origin: Peru

Paprika is made from a chili related to the hot cayenne pepper. Native to the Americas, the plant was brought back to Spain and Portugal, where it spread in popularity throughout Europe. Paprika is now an everyday flavor in many different styles of continental cuisine. Paprika adds a rich, pleasantly spicy flavor to soups, stews, meats and goulash. This paprika is smoked to add an earthy, grounded flavor.
