Kaolinite is a clay mineral and part of a group of industrial minerals. The name is derived from Kao-Ling, a village in Jiangxi province, China. Kaolin is a soft, earthy, typically white, mineral. Its most common use is in the production of paper and in ceramics such as fine China. Kaolin, according to medical studies, can be used for diarrhea (in small amounts). It is an excellent base when used to make your own makeup and makes a wonderful mixture for face masks.
