Irish Breakfast
Irish Breakfast
Irish Breakfast tea is a full-bodied, brisk, malty, very typical Irish brew. Its dark, potent character is sometimes compared to Irish stout beer. Our unique blend of small and large leaf Assam teas has been a tea lover's favorite for years. Comprised of full bodied Assam teas, our blend has been designed as a strong tea that will invigorate you in the morning and help you to start your day off right. When brewed it produces a cup with a brisk flavor and an undertone of dark, richly fermented malt. Amount of Tea: Be generous. A heaping tablespoon will make a rich and full flavored 8oz cup of Irish Breakfast. Quality tea leaves can be brewed multiple times, so if you wish to keep steeping the same leaves, use a little extra so that the tea doesn't get thin. The flavor will change over the course of multiple steeps, but that is part of the excitement of tasting tea! Steep Time: 4 to 5 minutes. Black teas do not get as bitter as green teas, but can still be over-steeped resulting in an unpleasant tanginess. Irish Breakfast is meant to be served strong and flavorful, but if you get a "dry" sensation in your mouth, use a shorter steep time. Water Temperature: 190 degrees F. Allow boiling water to cool for about 2 minutes before adding black tea leaves.
