 (HGW) is an ornamental plant with a long history of traditional use in Chinese herbalism. In China, it is known as yin yang huo, reflecting its traditional role as a tonic for both the female (yin) and male (yang). Epimedium was historically believed to “tonify life’s gate,” a term associated with vital energy and strength.
