Gunpowder
Gunpowder
Imperial Gunpowder tea is a form of green tea produced in Zhejiang Province of China. Commonly known as "Temple of Heaven" or "Pinhead", each leaf has been hand rolled into a small round pellet. Provides rich health benefits and is high in vitamins A, B2, C , D and E.
Amount of Tea: Use 2 full teaspoons of Imperial Gunpowder green tea to brew an 8 oz cup. If you intend to steep the leaves multiple times (which is strongly recommended), use a more generous helping of tea leaves. Use up to 2 tablespoons for a very rich flavor that can be enjoyed for many cups. The flavor will develop and mature with each addition of hot water, giving a unique experience to each cup.
Steep Time: 3 minutes. Shorter steep times produce a more delicate, less astringent flavor. Over-steeping will result in bitterness. If you tea comes out thin or lacking flavor, use more tea leaves.
Water Temperature: 180 degree F. If your tea comes out bitter, your water may be excessively hot. Allow boiling water to cool for 3 or 4 minutes before adding green tea leaves.
