Tree Peony has been used traditionally as a blood tonic which cools the blood and clears heat from the mid body including the Liver, Kidney and Heart. It invigorates blood and dispels stagnate blood from the Heart. Has been known to drain pus from wounds and reduce swelling (internally and externally).
